Limited license and use
The Canada Life Assurance Company and its Canadian subsidiaries are referred to as Canada Life.

You agree not to, or allow others to attempt or actually disrupt, impair or interfere with, alter or modify our Online Services or any of its content, including all copyright and other notices.
Our Online Services aren't intended to provide you with any personalized financial or insurance advice unless we specify.

You also have access to personal advice from one of our representatives, and you can get advice from any other appropriate professional advisor as you see fit.

Our products and services and those of other companies described on our Online Services are available only where they are allowed to be offered within Canada.

How we collect, use and disclose your personal information when you use our Online Services:
Email security
The security of email communication can't be guaranteed. You shouldn't email us sensitive information (including personal information such as your social insurance number or birthday). If you want to send private or confidential information to us or a third party, you may do so by other means.
Cookies and web beacons
Cookies are used when you read or download information on our Online Services, or receive our emails. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. We may use the information stored on your cookie to make your next visit to our site easier. Cookies help us make improvements to make our pages relevant and useful to you. We also use them for advertising-related purposes during future visits.
We use 2 types of cookies:

The type of data being collected
We gather data when you interact with our Online Services. The data we collect includes your IP address, information about how visitors explore our websites and about the number of new and repeat visitors, the pages they visited on our website, the date and time of their visits, the length of the visits, the referral URL, and information about the device and browser used and other similar details.
We also offer location-enabled services within some of our mobile applications, such as Google Maps. If you use mobile applications, these services may receive information about your actual location or information that can be used to approximate your location. You are always notified by the geolocation service, which you have the option to refuse.
With whom the data is shared
We use web analytics tools such as Adobe Analytics. Advertising tools are provided to us by advertising partners (like Google, Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter) and the advertising pixel tags on our website are deployed through Adobe Tag Manager. We share the information from cookies and web beacons with these partners or other agents to analyze online activity on our Online Services or to track online advertisements.
How to opt out of targeted advertising
You can choose not to allow your information from cookies and web beacons to be used for targeted advertising by turning off personalized ads in Facebook, LinkedIn, or Twitter, turning off cookies, opting out of ads or using private browsing.
Canadian users can also opt out through the Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada's website.
How to block cookies
You can change your browser settings to block cookies from being stored on your computer or mobile device. The 'help' menu of your browser should provide information on how to manage your cookie settings.
To block cookies when using your mobile device, refer to the procedure for turning cookies on or off in your browser app. Please be aware, however, that blocking cookies may prevent some pages on our website or some parts of our application from displaying correctly, and some features may not be available.
Social media
Canada Life is active with social media and invites you to share your comments and thoughts through our platforms.
We aren’t affiliated with the providers of the social media platforms we use. As such, we discourage the sharing of personal information through social media platforms. If you share personal information with us over our social media platforms, it may be disclosed to our employees, representatives and third-party service providers. These third-party service providers may be responsible for handling our social media accounts, including responding to questions or issues you raise.
Content that you post on our social media platforms is not private and may be seen by anyone who visits our platform. When you share information in public comments or posts, you agree that it is not confidential. If you’re sharing another individual’s information, you agree you have the permission of the individual to do so.
Canada Life reserves the right to remove any posts or comments that constitute or include sensitive personal information, personal attacks, defamatory, abusive or hateful comments, or any content containing a virus.
Availability
Our Online Services, in whole or in part, may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, updates or other causes that may be beyond our control. Any or all of our Online Services may change at any time without notice.

Our Online Services were developed by Canada Life and are our property. All information and materials contained in our Online Services are protected by copyright, trademark and/or other intellectual property laws of Canada and other countries, and are the property of their respective owner(s). Subject to the limited license to use our Online Services, no one may copy, redistribute, reproduce or republish in any form, or link to our Online Services or its contents in any manner whatsoever, including by way of hyperlinks or framing, unless that person has obtained the prior written consent of Canada Life. Any infringement of the rights of Canada Life may result in legal action.
Trademarks
Canada Life owns or has obtained the right to use the trademarks, logos and domain names used on our Online Services. The trademarks are protected by Canadian and foreign trademark laws. All rights reserved. The display of trademarks on our Online Services shouldn't be construed as an implied license to use such trademarks.
Canada Life, the design, and marks displayed on the Online Services followed by the TM symbol at first time of use are registered or unregistered trademarks of The Canada Life Assurance Company or a third party. Third-party marks are used with permission or under license.
General disclaimer
We do our best to make sure all the information on our Online Services is reliable and accurate, but we can't guarantee it. If there's any difference between the information provided on or through our Online Services and the information in our records, the information in our records prevails.
Unless we specify, nothing on our Online Services forms a contract other than as it relates to the use of the Online Services or as may be expressly provided. This includes any direct, indirect, special, consequential or exemplary damages, even if Canada Life has been advised of the possibility, including but not limited to lost profits, lost opportunities or business revenues, loss of goodwill, or failure to realize expected savings.
Canada Life provides you with access to our Online Services through network providers and other suppliers. It's your responsibility to make sure your own network is secure. Canada Life (including our employees, officers and directors) isn't responsible for any loss from a security breach or from you sending private or sensitive information over the Internet.
If anything in this agreement turns out to be unenforceable or invalid, the rest of it still applies.
