For Gen Zs, financial wellness and mental wellness are closely linked. Building savings is not only about preparing for the future. It’s also about reducing financial anxiety, increasing resilience and creating a greater sense of control and well-being today. And, for employees who may be struggling, solutions in your benefits plan like your employee assistance program (EAP) or other mental health supports can help them reduce stress, improve well-being and help them reframe their thinking to give them a sense of control.
Gen Zs are often defined by the challenges they face – but they’re equally defined by their adaptability, resilience, desire for purpose and commitment to growth. The organizations that succeed in attracting, retaining and engaging these employees are the ones that communicate in ways that feel relevant, authentic and actionable.
By acknowledging employees’ realities, creating relevance and making it easier to take action, employers have an opportunity to build deeper trust and stronger connections with this next generation of talent. While these principles can help improve savings outcomes today, their impact extends much further by supporting engagement, retention, well-being and a workplace culture where employees feel understood, valued and empowered to succeed.
The future of work is being shaped by Gen Z. Organizations that invest in understanding and engaging them today will be better positioned to help them thrive tomorrow and over the years to come.
