The fund manager will aim to select companies that are expected to benefit from strong growth themes globally, anticipated as a result of economic and market trends identified.
High quality companies are classified as either: tier one (large cap, dominant in their sector, strong balance sheets); tier two (narrower product line but a higher potential for growth); or tier three (smaller niche companies with greater potential upside). The fund will typically have some exposure to all three tiers.
