The Investment Manager Research (IMR) team oversees the investment managers of Canada Life’s mutual and segregated funds. They monitor, evaluate and rate the funds and their investment managers. This helps to ensure the investment managers and funds on our platform are relevant and competitive, so you can feel confident you’re providing the right investment solutions to your clients.

Mackenzie Investments has announced that Konstantin Boehmer, Senior Vice President, Portfolio Manager, Head of Fixed Income, has assumed sole leadership responsibilities of the Mackenzie Fixed Income Team. Konstantin previously shared leadership of the Fixed Income Team with Steve Locke, Senior Vice President, Chief Investment Officer of Fixed Income and Multi-Asset Strategies. 

Effective Jan. 1, 2024, Konstantin has assumed leadership of all fixed income portfolio management, research, and trading functions. Meanwhile, Steve Locke will oversee the Fixed Income Team in his role as CIO, Fixed Income and Multi-Asset Strategies. Steve will continue to serve as the Chair of Mackenzie’s Global Investment Committee. 

This change marks the end of a succession plan years in the making for the Mackenzie Fixed Income Team. Konstantin and Steve have worked closely together over the past decade, managing investment strategies for retail and institutional clients, and enhancing the capabilities of the team.

The IMR team will continue to meet with the leadership team to monitor the transition.
