Recently, Canada Life identified a fraudulent marketing brochure promoting fixed rate bonds that appears to be offered by Canada Life. The brochure looks very similar to marketing materials we create, but we don’t offer fixed rate bonds. Canada Life is not affiliated in any way with the individuals or organization offering these products.

This type of fraud is rare, but affects Canada Life and other financial institutions from time to time. Here are some helpful tips to keep in mind to help identify fraud:

  •  When buying our products, you’ll make any payments directly to The Canada Life Assurance Company by cheque, electronic funds transfer (EFT) or wire transfer.
  • You may receive a phone call from us to confirm your banking details before we send you funds via EFT or wire transfer.
  • We’ll never ask you to share other personal information such as your date of birth or social insurance number (SIN) via email.

If you’ve received a communication or brochure from someone who claims to work for Canada Life and want to make sure it’s genuine, or would like to report fraudulent activity email Corporate Investigations, or call our tip line at 1-877-751-3417
