Canada Post is in talks with the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) to reach an agreement and avoid a labour disruption. If no agreement is reached, there could be a postal labour disruption this May
During a labour disruption, Canada Life is prepared to continue to serve our customers. Here’s what you need to know:
Canada Life will do it's best to continue to meet your needs, and minimize the impact if there's a disruption.
Many payments will be sent via courier. Most mail sent by courier will require a signature on delivery. This is to protect privacy and ensure it’s received by the person it’s intended for.
You can expect non-urgent payments and other non-urgent mail like statements, confirmations and annual reports to arrive after postal service resumes. We understand everyone’s personal situation is unique. We’ll consider exceptions in certain circumstances. To request an exception, please speak to your advisor or visit our contact page.
To register for electronic funds transfer (EFT) or for specific concerns about your policies and investments, please speak to your advisor or visit our contact page.
We’ll mail non-urgent correspondence – including statements, confirmations, billing notices and annual reports – when the postal labour disruption ends.
We'll stop sending mail a few days before the anticipated labour disruption. This should prevent these cheques from getting stuck in the mail.
Your advisor’s correspondence with head office is normally done by courier or email (digital documents), not Canada Post. This means a postal disruption won’t affect this correspondence.
You have several options:
- Contact your advisor to talk about online payment options.
- Set up direct deposit, so you can make regular automatic payments from your account. To set this up, talk with your advisor or visit our contact page.
