Sylvie Schmaus has been part of the large-case underwriting team at Canada Life for more than 10 years.

In her current role as Assistant Vice-President, Advanced Underwriting, she works with Stephanie Carter, Director, Advanced Underwriting, and four advanced underwriting consultants. They work exclusively in the ultra high-net-worth market.

What does the Advanced Underwriting team do?

The team launched early last year as an addition to our large-case service offering. They underwrite cases with an annual premium of $500K and above or with a payout at death of $25 million and above. The Large-case team provides first-class underwriting solutions for cases with an annual premium of $25K and above or with a payout at death of $10 million and above.
