Update on recent cyber incident

Canada Life has completed its investigation into a recent cyber incident involving unauthorized access to certain applications through an employee account.

Third-party cybersecurity experts have confirmed that the incident has been fully contained, and there is no evidence of any ongoing unauthorized activity in our environment.

Who was impacted?

As part of our investigation, we completed a thorough data analysis and have notified all individuals whose sensitive personal data was identified as impacted. Those individuals have been offered credit monitoring protection at no cost.

We’ve informed advisors and plan sponsors whose clients or members have been notified of an impact.

We have also posted public notifications on our websites to inform stakeholders of the increased risk of malicious communications attempts following this incident.

What is being done to prevent future cyber incidents?

We have always invested significantly in our systems, processes and people and are committed to continue to do so to safeguard the information entrusted to us.
