Winnipeg, MB, September 21, 2020. . . Last week, Canada Life proudly accepted the silver Canadian HR Team of the Year Award in Finance/Insurance at the Canadian HR Awards. The awards are presented by HRD Canada and were established to celebrate excellence in HR.

The award recognizes Canada Life as one of the most outstanding HR teams of the year within financial services, demonstrating that the company has excelled at combatting unique challenges. Canada Life was chosen as the silver winner because of their competitive employee offering, which includes things like flexible work arrangements, virtual healthcare tools, a competitive bonus program, internal education workshops and more. The company was also recognized for supporting employees during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We measure our success by the success of our people and our business. But these awards provide us with an opportunity to celebrate that success and the hard work of so many people on our team. It’s also an opportunity to see how we stand up to other organizations,” says Cathy Weaver, Senior Vice-President, Human Resources, Canada. “I’m very proud of the entire HR team for their commitment, creativity and collaboration with leaders and employees across the company.”

The Canadian HR Awards event was held virtually on September 16, 2020. Other nominees included financial and insurance organizations from across Canada.

Winners were selected by a judging panel of business professionals from across the country.
