Canada Life Invests $100,000 to Support Health Care Innovation at Seven Oaks Hospital
Winnipeg, MB — April 16, 2026 — Today, Canada Life and the Seven Oaks General Hospital Foundation announced a shared commitment to helping improving health outcomes for Manitobans. Canada Life will be contributing $100,000 over several years to support the Foundation’s commitment to improving the health and well-being of the community through innovative research, chronic disease prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and wellness programming. The collaboration will help advance innovative programs that expand access to care, promote equity, and improve patient outcomes across Manitoba.
Canada Life’s multi-year contribution will help support a broad range of transformational initiatives, including one flagship project centered around revolutionizing cardiac rehabilitation. “We are incredibly grateful for Canada Life’s leadership and support,” said Trevor Krahn, CEO, Seven Oaks Hospital Foundation. “This investment will accelerate innovative and impactful models of care that meet people where they are and improve health equity across Manitoba.”
The Seven Oaks Hospital Health Campus is pioneering a personalized, accessible, data driven cardiac rehabilitation platform that empowers patients to take charge of their recovery. The digital approach aims to reduce disparities in cardiac care, especially for patients in rural, remote, and underserved communities, ensuring more Manitobans can access lifesaving rehabilitation when and where they need it.
In addition to the cardiac rehabilitation project, this funding will also support further critical work across the health campus to tackle major, complex, and interconnected health challenges in our community, including enhancing equity and access to healthcare, chronic disease prevention and management, and patient-centered care.
“At Canada Life, we’re proud to support initiatives that help improve access to care, advances health equity, and aid in creating better outcomes for those who need it most,” said Ryan Weiss, SVP Disability Solutions & Underwriting, Canada Life. “Seven Oaks Hospital Foundation is leading important and innovative work, especially in cardiac rehabilitation and early kidney disease detection, that will make a meaningful difference for Manitobans.”
This support advances the Seven Oaks Hospital Foundation’s ongoing work to expand and modernize programs focused on helping improve health outcomes across the community.
