Medical Referral Services

If the insured child is diagnosed with one of the critical illness insured conditions named in the policy, then following the submission of a critical illness insurance claim, access will be provided to the services of Best Doctors, Inc.

The services provided by Best Doctors™ are designed to help the insured child and his or her treating physician upon diagnosis to improve the chance of a successful outcome through access to additional information.

InterConsultation™

Provides an in-depth review of the insured child’s medical records, personalized medical evaluation and treatment recommendations from specialists affiliated with leading medical institutions throughout the world to help the insured child’s treating physician determine the proper course of action.

FindBestDoc™

Provides the names and professional profiles of up to 3 top specialists, based on geographic preference for the insured child, who have been identified by other doctors as the “best” for treating the insured child’s condition.

FindBestCare®

Assistance with medical appointments and monitoring of the treatment process to help ensure that the insured child’s medical priorities are met.

Access to these services is not part of the policy contract. Canada Life is not obligated to provide the services of Best Doctors, Inc. and may change or cancel access to these services at any time without notice.

We recommend that the owner inform the insured child’s physician that these services are available.

The critical illness insured condition definitions in the Child LifeAdvance contract may be more restrictive than those for which Best Doctors, Inc. provides services. These services may be provided even though the insured child may not be entitled to benefits under the Child LifeAdvance policy. Any representations or warranties concerning these services are those of Best Doctors, Inc. and not Canada Life.
