The Key to Giving
Since its inception, we have supported the Imagine program, by making a public commitment to meet specific standards of corporate citizenship, and to donate a minimum of 1% of average pre-tax domestic profits to charitable and non-profit organizations each year.
We are continuing to support these principles under the new leadership of Imagine Canada. As a designated Caring Company, we subscribe to Imagine Canada’s renewed Corporate Citizenship Commitment.
The Key to Giving™ brochure outlines the corporate citizenship and community investment of Canada Life, Great-West Life and London Life. Through our support of hundreds of charitable, non-profit and community-based organizations across the country, we help address important issues of our society—from the most localized of needs, to those that affect broader segments of the population, to major national initiatives.
We focus our support to ensure it has the greatest impact in the following areas:
- Arts and culture
- Health and wellness
- Education
- Social services through United Way and Centraide
- Civic activities and projects
We interact with communities in many ways. Organizations contact us directly with their proposals and our staff and distribution partners come forward with information and plans about how to address needs in their locations.
Through the Key to Giving’s Community Partners™ and Community Builders™ programs, we provide corporate support to our staff and distribution partners for the qualifying organizations with which they’re involved.
By providing corporate contributions directly to qualifying organizations, and supporting our staff and distribution partners’ volunteer interests, we effectively balance our support across Canada and address community issues that are important at a local, regional and national level.
