Actuarial Mathematics
As an actuary, you help ensure the company operates on a sound financial basis. You analyze premium rates, reserve levels, dividend schedules, investments and cash flow. If you are actively pursuing the Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) designation, we offer an outstanding development program. The Actuarial Program at Canada Life is designed to motivate and reward you as you work toward becoming a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries. Our program provides the opportunity to gain work experience in different areas of the company while you are studying the Society of Actuaries examinations. This program also assists you in developing interpersonal and leadership skills to a degree where you can be considered for a management position at an appropriate time in your career.

Claims Adjudication
As part of this team, you review health, dental, disability, critical illness and life insurance claims, and authorize payment to individuals covered under Canada Life policies. You understand how different plans work in different provinces and apply that knowledge to handling each claim.

Data Entry
As a part of our data entry team, you will be responsible for the data entry of medical, dental and vision claims for our Group Benefit Payment office. You will also review claim attachments and determine the relevance of claim information.

As part of the financial team, you help collect, analyze and summarize financial data, oversee day-to-day accounting for each line of business, and prepare reports for senior management, government and industry agencies.
As a member of the investment team, you help invest and manage billions of dollars for the company and its clients. You seek investment opportunities in equities, bonds, mortgages and real estate to obtain the returns needed to pay financial obligations to policyholders, and invest in growth and development.

Reinsurance
As part of the reinsurance team, you join a leading Canadian reinsurance institution, built on prudent business practices and systems, coupled with a strong client service ethic. Formed in 1999, Canada Life's Reinsurance operation offers an extensive range of services which are structured to meet the needs of our clients. In July 2003, Canada Life was acquired by The Great-West Life Assurance Company and, along with London Reinsurance Group, Canada Life Reinsurance became a member of Great-West Life's reinsurance organization.
